Sub-millimeter Wave Astronomy Satellites (SWAS/SMEX)

  • The Sub-millimeter Wave Astronomy Satellites were launched to study the energy balance and physical conditions of the molecular clouds in the galaxy by observing the radio-wave spectrum specific to certain molecules.

  • The Microwave Anisotropy Probe was launched to study the background microwave radiation from the Big Bang.

Earth Observing Satellites (EOS, particularly TERRA, AQUA, AURA)
